The Book That Travelled With Me

As I boarded the train to begin my journey from India to the United States, I was given a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. Since that day, the book has remained my spiritual companion, traveling with me through more than 50 years of life in California.
I came to America as a biologist, but my cultural and spiritual traditions continued to guide my path. Over the years, I founded an academy of Indian performing arts, directed Heritage of India classes for children, and helped preserve spiritual teachings within the Indian community.
Now gratefully retired, I have lived in Petaluma for the past 15 years and remain active in my community. Through every stage of my journey, the Bhagavad Gita has offered wisdom, strength, and a lasting connection to the home and traditions I carried with me.
